Wedding Rings Workshop - A Creative Date Idea in Berlin

Weddings are such a personal moment, where you get to craft the entire celebration, from the bouquet and the seating chart to the vows you say to each other. So why not add another element of your own character as a couple by designing and crafting your own wedding rings?

Your wedding ring is something you will carry with you, hopefully forever. Its round shape symbolizes eternity, and the engravings on the inside hold their own potency as affirmations of your union. Being able to envision and sculpt your commitment rings with your own hands, side by side, is a true gift. In my wedding rings workshop, this is exactly what we do. In a private and intimate setting, I guide you through crafting your forever rings and finish them professionally so they look perfectly refined.

What makes the wedding rings workshop special?

What makes the weddding ring workshop special

My wedding rings workshop is not an ordinary class where you simply sit, design, and sculpt. Here, the atmosphere plays an important role in shaping the final result. I make sure that you feel comfortable and inspired to creatively unleash your symbolic wedding wishes into your bands.

You will also receive one-on-one guidance from me, Jose, the designer behind my brand. I take great pleasure in helping people create their own beloved pieces through workshops and have been doing so for years. I will guide you every step of the way to make sure your designs are executed up to high standards, while encouraging your creative freedom and vision. And don’t worry if you haven’t tried jewelry-making before or don’t consider yourself “crafty” enough. With my full guidance, you will also get my professional “jeweler’s touch”. I will hand-finish and polish your rings to the same standard as the pieces I create for my own collection, so that you leave with beautifully crafted, artisan-quality wedding rings that carry your unique signature.

A recent couple who attended the workshop, Annika Lu and her partner, shared their heartfelt impressions of the workshop: "We had the most wonderful experience creating our wedding rings in the workshop. It was not only so much fun, but the result is more beautiful than we could have ever hoped or dreamed of. Jose guided us with so much kindness, warmth, and care, and made the whole process truly special. We are deeply grateful to her – we wouldn’t want it any other way. It made our wedding, and everything around it, absolutely perfect.”

The wedding rings workshop is another form of union; an experience that seals your love and commitment to each other in a creative way. It helps you bond in a unique and memorable fashion, discovering new things about each other. The relaxed atmosphere invites you to unwind and let the experience leave a lasting memory within you.

The workshop can also act as a fun and personal surprise for your beloved. As one customer, Paula, writes: “I surprised my boyfriend by arranging a wedding rings workshop with Jose. The experience was fantastic.”

What to expect on the day

Your creative date idea will have a clear structure to make sure your vision truly comes to life at the jewelry bench.

We start by discussing and sketching your wedding ring ideas on paper to design the perfect bands, which will help us select the best jewelry-making technique for your chosen style.

I will then guide you through sculpting your rings in wax, introducing you to the ancient technique of wax carving, so you’ll create a wax model of your soon-to-be-rings.

Your finished rings will be ready for pick-up three to four weeks after the workshop

These will then be sent to a trusted local caster to be cast in your chosen metal (e.g. sterling silver, yellow gold, or white gold).

Once they’re ready, I will hand-finish the rings with care, taking into account any specifications you might have, such as special engravings or stone settings. Your finished rings will be ready for pick-up three to four weeks after the workshop, beautifully packaged in a wooden box.

Setting the mood for you creative date night

Intimate and romantic mood at the wedding ring workshop

I put a lot of care into making the wedding rings workshop as intimate and enjoyable for you as possible. That’s why it truly feels like a creative, unique, and once-in-a-lifetime date night experience.

During the four-hour workshop, there will be wine, soft drinks, and a selection of vegan appetizers provided to make the experience extra special, along with ambient music. If you have any other requests that would make your creative date even more original, please feel free to let me know in advance.

As one couple, Mariann and Kaspar, wrote: “Creating our wedding rings with Jose was the highlight of our Berlin trip. She guided us through the design process and created a warm atmosphere with candles, wine, and snacks.”

How to choose your wedding rings design

I encourage you to be as creative as you wish when designing your commitment rings. You can also choose to go for a very personal design rather than traditional wedding rings. You can rest assured that I will help you design, execute, and finish your ideas with care and precision.

“We brought some references, and Jose helped us design our rings,” writes Clara, a customer. “We chose a fine, minimal texture, and Jose's expertise made the execution process seamless. The rings turned out just as we envisioned them, and the best part is that we made them ourselves!”

There are endless design possibilities we can explore when it comes to the shape, metals, ornaments, and finishings. Each step of the creation process allows you to imprint your own style and signature onto your commitment rings.

Band style

The shape of the band plays a key role in defining the overall character of your rings. You can choose a classic half-round band for a timeless and traditional feel, or explore more sculptural, organic, or geometric profiles for a contemporary look. A flat band brings a clean, minimalistic aesthetic, while a half-round band offers softness and comfort.

The perfect metal

Choosing the metal for your wedding rings is an important part of the process, as it will define not only their appearance but also how they age and accompany you through time. Your rings can be cast in sterling silver, 9k, 14k or 18k gold, in yellow, white, or champagne tones, depending on your personal taste and lifestyle. Each alloy has its own character, warmth, and durability, and I will guide you through the options so you can find the one that truly feels right for you.

If you wish to give new life to a family heirloom, it is also possible to work with your own gold. By paying a recycling fee, your existing piece can be melted down and transformed into your wedding rings, carrying its history into a new chapter of your story. This is a beautiful way to honor the past while creating something deeply personal and meaningful for the future.

Engravings and stone-setting

You can truly personalize your rings by adding gemstones, such as a diamond, sapphire, or your birthstone. Of course, engraving (optional) makes the rings even more special, whether it’s your wedding date, initials, or meaningful words inscribed inside or outside the band. The engravings can also be done with your own handwriting for an extra personal touch.

Finishing and perfecting your rings

One of the beautiful aspects of working with wax is the freedom it gives you to experiment with textures. You can create countless unique surface effects on your rings, from organic, hand-carved patterns to subtle marks that tell the story of your process, and ultimately, your beautiful relationship. Some couples even choose to imprint their fingerprints on the inside or outside of their rings, making them truly personal. If you prefer something more classic, you can go for a smooth high-polish finish or a refined matte look.
